« The Woman who Walks » is the title of my new album recorded at the Amphiopera in Lyon, October 2010. The music is performed by a trio, with Christophe Gauvert on double bass and Franck René on clarinet. This album contains a range of melodies and songs from the coast of Asia Minor to the islands of the Aegean Sea.
What must it have sounded like when a harpist played in the Cyclades 2400 years before Christ? In order to find out, I sing the story of the woman who walks. These melodies in the oral tradition have passed from mother to daughter and know no age. In each song resounds the name of an island, the name of a town – Chios, Mytilene, Smynra, Alatsata.
Come along on this new journey full of lights, fragrances and emotions. . .

I am happy to participate in the next recording of the label “Au fil de l’air” (borne on the air): Children and Voices of the World, for which the theme in 2011 is Mediterraneans of Mothers – songs of the olive tree and cooking. Since 1998, the festival “temps chauds” (warm seasons), itinerant representations in the Department of Ain, which specialises in music of the world, has been giving the opportunity to children to travel to the heart of international cultures. Artists from the entire world take part in this project and transmit to younger generations their musical heritage sung in the original language.

The Cornwall Festival in Quimper this year highlights Greece and its links with Brittany.
It’s an honour for me to inaugurate on the main stage of the festival this show with 60 musicians and singers and to share with the public my love for these two countries.I am also happy to invite Annie Ebrel to participate in a common musical venture. The writing of the arrangements and rehearsals began in Brittany, and continued during the month of May when I flew to Greece to work with Haig Yazdijian and Panos Dimitrakopoulos.More information on the concert page
