les deux mers elisa vellia

"Yes, there are real similarities between Brittany and Greece – landscapes rich in beauty with magnificent effects of light, regions of seamen and great travellers, their gaze turned toward the open sea. Greeks, like Bretons, are nurtured in music, poetry and dance. The first is an emotional talker and the second an emotional quiet man , like two sides of the same coin…."
Elisa Vellia.

Guest : Annie Ebrel

Between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, between her native land, Greece, and her adopted land, Brittany, Elisa Vellia weaves her own musical universe. Her show The Two Seas takes us to the heart of her new album, Ahnaria, which means footprints in Greek. It reflects the oral tradition, transmitted from mother to daughter, the desire and love of travel, but also leaving, nostalgia and attachment.

Annie EbrelThe Two Seas is also the story of an encounter: Elisa’s guest is the singer Annie Ebrel, with whom she shares a common musical itinerary. Annie Ebrel has also made an album with the title “footprints”, in Breton, Roudennou. Thus, each in her own language will be singing new creations in a common emotional language, that of music, in which the Celtic and Greek souls are in tune.

"Ce voyage a commencé avant moi et continuera après moi. Ce sont les empreintes de cette femme qui traverse les siècles en silence... Je sens la poussière de sa longue marche couler dans mes veines. Je la suis.

J'ai quitté mon pays par choix, pour la quête du rêve. Mais entre ma terre de naissance et ma terre de vie, j'ai parfois le sentiment d'être en suspens, et que mes nouvelles racines restent superficielles par peur de fermer derrière moi la porte du retour..."
